A New York appeals court ruled in the case of New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens vs. Microtech Contracting Corporation. The ruling allows employers to retain NY workers compensation protection despite the violation of the U.S. Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
The employees injured in the initial incident on the job and sued the hospital in addition to Microtech, according to a recent article in Business Insurance. In the article, the hospital decided to file a separate action against the contractor, Microtech.
The trial court dismissed the hospital’s complaint in the end.Share This
